The Process
STEP 1: CONTACT us with your referral or self-refer.
If you would like to see one of our Neurologists, a referral from a GP or Specialist is required. However, a referral is not required to see our GP with special interest in headache and migraine management. Contact our team and they will discuss what is required to move onto the next step of this process.
STEP 2: COMPLETE SMS questionnaire sent to you.
Once your referral or enquiry has been processed by our team, you will receive an SMS to complete a questionnaire. This questionnaire assists us with understanding more of your history and condition so that we can find the right way forward for you.
STEP 3: PRELIMINARY team review of your case
After your questionnaire has been completed, our clinical team will take 2 business days to assess your case, at which time a Nurse review will be required as the next step of this process.
STEP 4: BOOK with a nurse to discuss your case further and advise best clinician for you.
STEP 5: SCHEDULE an appointment with recommended Doctor.
Once your call with our Nurse has been completed, you will be transferred to our administration team to finalise a booking with a recommended Doctor. If you would prefer, we can contact you at a more suitable time to arrange this. In the event that your case it not suitable for the treatments and services we offer, a recommendation to an alternative practice will be given.
STEP 6: RETURN completed emailed information from reception team.
Once your appointment has been made, our reception team will email out several documents to complete before you are seen by the doctor. Our reception team will discuss with you what is required, so be sure to check your emails for this information!
STEP 7: CONSULTATION with a Neurologist, or GP with special interest in headache and migraine management.
This includes the provision of a diagnosis, explanation of your condition, investigations if required, and the prescription of an individualised treatment plan.
STEP 8: TREATMENT commenced either on initial visit or soon thereafter (timing depending on nature of advised treatment).
Treatments include oral medications, and/or injection/infusion therapy. (Strict Medicare criteria apply to some of these medications).
STEP 9: FOLLOW UP assessments with your Doctor and our Nurses to review for treatment response.
After commencing treatment, our clinical team will continue to monitor and assess your response. Phone bookings are available should you require a call with one of our Nurses.
STEP 10: ONGOING CARE once you have achieved more migraine free days, you have the option to continue under the care our team, or (if suitable) to return to your usual GP to monitor.
Should your condition change in any way, then another review with our team to reassess your case may be required.
