Dr Nicole Limberg MBBS, FRACP
Dr Nicole Limberg is a Neurologist and the Director of Migraine Specialist in Spring Hill, Brisbane. The clinic is the largest dedicated headache clinic in QLD, and specializes in the treatment of chronic migraines, including the provision of injection therapy. Dr Limberg has participated as an investigator in further research of chronic migraine therapy. Most recently, data from her clinic has contributed to a retrospective chart review for the efficacy of injection therapy for the prophylaxis of chronic migraine in Australian clinical practice.
Dr Limberg provides training and education on the topic of chronic migraine therapy to her medical colleagues. She was recently selected to be part of an international mentor scheme in this capacity. She is also dedicated to improved patient education of the condition, and contributes to a regular blog on this website. Dr Limberg is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), as well as the newly formed Australian and New Zealand Headache Society (ANZHS).
The clinic is also unique, in that it is currently the only dedicated chronic migraine treatment practice in Brisbane providing injection therapy for migraines, which is both Medicare subsidized, and fully PBS funded.
Dr Cullen O’Gorman BSc (Hons), MBBS, FRACP
Dr O’Gorman completed his medical degree at the University of London in 2003. Following graduation he trained in Neurology in England and Queensland, Australia. He was then chosen for a prestigious ANZAN overseas fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA. Whilst at the Mayo Clinic, his training included clinical neurophysiology and therapeutic use of botulinum toxin. He has an interest in treatment of migraine and other headaches, and also uses botulinum toxin for treatment of hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm and cervical dystonia. He is also able to provide neurophysiologic evaluation for upper limb entrapment syndromes such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
Dr O’Gorman has active research interests in movement disorders, neurophysiology and ultrasound. Details of his research can be found at ResearchGate, and at ORCID. Sharon Bale Headache Specialist Nurse RN
Sharon works alongside Dr Limberg a Neurologist in Migraine Specialist. She is a Registered nurse with over 30 years’ experience. Sharon has updated and refined her practice over the years and has become aware of a rewarding career migraine treatment brings.
Migraines is such a specialised and evolving field, she is excited to remain at the forefront of this highly unique and evolving area of medicine. Recently she presented at the the Australasian Neuroscience Nurses Association, she has been chosen to attend advisory board meetings along with assisting and initiating community events to increase awareness for migraine. Today she continues to maintains her position in the community as a keen advocate for the patient with migraine to reduce the stigma that is associated with such a debilitating illness.
